Account & Data Deletion

Your Data, Your Control

🗑️ How to Delete Your Account

You have full control over your account and data. To delete your account and all associated data:

• In-App: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
• Email Request: Send a deletion request to tech@rugbuddy.app from your registered email
• Response Time: Account deletion is processed within 48 hours

📊 What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• Your user profile and authentication data
• All saved bookmarks (tokens, news, Reddit posts)
• Your subscription history and payment records
• Usage tracking and analytics data
• Community reports and comments you've submitted
• All personal preferences and settings

⚠️ What Cannot Be Deleted

For security and legal compliance, some data may be retained:

• Anonymous Analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics
• Legal Records: Transaction records required by financial regulations (anonymized after 7 years)
• Security Logs: Fraud prevention data (automatically purged after 90 days)

💾 Data Export Before Deletion

Before deleting your account, you can export your data:

• Bookmarks: Export all saved tokens, news, and Reddit posts as JSON
• Reports: Download your community contributions and voting history
• Settings: Backup your app preferences and configurations

🔄 Account Recovery

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted:

• You cannot recover your bookmarks or saved data
• Your community contributions will be anonymized
• You'll need to create a new account to use premium features
• Previous subscription benefits cannot be restored
